Practice That Throttle Control!

Back up to my usual antics at the Renegade Miata Club; running on street tires and trying to see how far I can push the car even though it is definitely not setup for street tires! ah blah

Back up to my usual antics at the Renegade Miata Club; running on street tires and trying to see how far I can push the car even though it is definitely not setup for street tires!

I had Rachel co-driving with me for this event, since she let me drive her BMW 135i at the last BMW Club event. I wanted to help her learn to be more smooth with both her hands, and her throttle inputs. Given how touchy the car can be with on-off throttle inputs, I thought this would be a great practice for her to learn when you can be harsh with the throttle, and when you need to be smooth.

Rachel's fastest time was a 1'12.411 clean on her last run, and I managed to get down to a 1'09.509 +2 cones, with a clean time of 1'09.933. There definitely was a 1'08 out there, but I couldn't find it unfortunately. The rest of the Results are located here. Hats off to Rachel for not only having fun, but for learning some great skills that will hopefully help her out in the future.
