First race back, and damn it feels good to be doing what I love again! This was the first event for SCCA NER, and the only practice event before the upcoming ProSolo in New Jersey!
John and I had decided to run in Pro class to see where we could stand against everyone else. Surprisingly enough, with last year's Hoosiers and the terrible weather, we did pretty good! Out of
16 drivers in Pro class, I had taken
6th place with a
'57.117 clean, and John had taken
10th with a
'57.883 clean. John had a fastest dirty time of
'57.583 +1 cone. I'm proud of us for how well we did, as well as the hard work over the winter paying off.
As a quick side note, some of the new parts really worked well for us this race too. The
BHR Engine Mounts worked great! Even though they increased the vibration of the car under throttle, it increased throttle response even more. On-top of that, going back to the OEM Torsen-type differential was the way to go. We could get the car to rotate as we needed, and it did not want to push anywhere. However, we did lose that amazing stability in the slaloms that I was starting to love. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with how everything has turned out.
Results are located on NER's
result page, here. YouTube Playlist of all the videos are
located here, with videos of our fastest runs down below. The next race is the ProSolo in New Jersey, so stay tuned!
