Lui's Birthday Meet At Wankel Works

A lot of rotaries were revolving their way to Wankel Works this past weekend for Lui's birthday party. It was a great turn-out, as the entire RE-Zelse team was able to show up, along with some of my friends from NEPOC, the Mass RX-8 Club, and some personal rotary friends of Lui. Be prepared for a lot of pictures as various cars came by, such as a fully restored Mazda REPU and some first generation RX-7s!

I switched to my racing wheels at the meet because I was fortunate enough to have the very talented photographers Kristyn, Josh, and Jordan, to take some amazing pictures of Serenity. I have been wanting to get some professional, non-racing pictures of her for a long time so I can showcase her a little bit for any interested magazines or blogs. Everyone preferred the racing wheels for pictures due to the size and custom dark-gunmetal color as opposed to my smaller, silver street wheels. Big thanks to all three of them for the excellent photos, I really appreciate it!

As for the team, we were there early to help finish setting up the shop for the party. Francesco was going to be leaving Blueberry at the shop to get some of her problems sorted out in time for his race this upcoming weekend at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Be sure to follow his Google+ for updates on that. Andrey was kind enough to give a detailed presentation on engine tuning for those that were interested. With the grill fired up, hoods propped open, a DJ playing beats outside, and friends all around, it was a great event that stayed laid back for the rest of the night.

A note to my good friend Lui, Happy Birthday! Your age is like a rotor bearing; It only gets better with mileage. You've come so far already, and there are plenty of miles left to travel! For those that are interested, there are hundreds of pictures from the photographers available for viewing and download. Below are links to all of the photo galleries from each photographer. If you plan on using any of the pictures in the albums linked below, please be courteous and give them proper credit for the photos.
